Ryan Thompson is the principal engineer and licensed surveyor at RCL Thompson. With over 25 years of experience in the engineering industry, he has designed and overseen construction for a wide range of projects—including roads, subdivisions, parking facilities, septic systems, site plans, soil analysis and reports, residential and light commercial foundations, and complex drainage systems.

Before founding RCL Thompson, Ryan served as the Director of Public Works for the City of Norwich, Connecticut, where he led infrastructure initiatives for more than three years. He is currently licensed as both a Professional Engineer and Land Surveyor in the State of Connecticut.

In addition to his civilian career, Ryan is a retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel with 25 years of combined service in the Army National Guard and Army Reserve. A decorated combat veteran, he has deployed to Iraq, Afghanistan, and Bosnia in support of military operations.
